Nuuk, also known by its Danish name of Godthåb (Good Hope), is the
capital and administrative center of Greenland, with a population of
around 15,000 (about 1/4 the entire population of the country).

founded Nuuk in 1728 as the very first town in Greenland. Nuuk has a

with its beautiful old buildings brings you to “the board”, where the
day’s catch of seal, birds and fish is sold.

newspapers, is a fishing center, and has oil and liquid gas storage
facilities. An airfield was built there in the late 1970s. The town
was founded in 1721 by Hans Egede, a Norwegian missionary. The
Godthåbfjord region has fine pastures and supports reindeer herds.

Nuuk (The Cape in Greenlandic) (Danish: Godth�b, which translates to
"Good Hope" in English) is the capital and largest city of the
self-governing Danish territory of Kalaallit Nunaat (Greenland). The
city was founded in 1728 by the Norwegian missionary Hans Egede, and
given the name Godth�b.

Nuuk (The Promontory), is Greenland's capital. This 180 degree mobile
